In the DARK AVENGERS comic, there was a fake Hawkeye running around who was secretly the villain known as Bullseye. They got away with it because the real Hawkeye was dead. Don’t worry, Hawkeye is not dead anymore.

MARVEL SUPER HEROES SECRET WARS was Marvel’s first big comic event that was directly and specifically tied into a line of action figures, which were created by Mattel in the 1980s. Featuring all of Marvel’s most prominent heroes and villains fighting on Battleworld, the comics and toys were a huge success. I personally had all the comics and as many of the action figures as I was able to track down. Awesome art by Mike Zeck sure helped make it all look amazing. Here’s my Mini Marvels tribute to SECRET WARS #1 based on Mike Zeck’s original classic cover.

I thought it might be a good time to share some holiday art from the last couple years.
And there’s still time to order the Mini Marvels Peanuts dancing holiday postcard, as well as some original art, here in the store.
I recently had this comic strip sent to me from Jordan…
Pretty awesome, right? But what does it have to do with me? Why does it get a spotlight here on Fan Art Friday? Because this strip was actually suggested by Hawkeye for Colossus to draw…

Much later on, Hawkeye writes down a joke for the Hulk to use on his date with Betty…

And we soon find out what that joke is during Hulk’s date…
It’s the same joke Hawkeye suggested for Colossus to draw. But nobody ever did draw that comic strip… until Jordan came along, that is! Great job, Jordan! I love it, and Hawkeye loves it too!
As I’m getting ready for this coming weekend’s Project Comic Con in St. Louis, Missouri, I thought I’d share this Avengers piece that will be up for grabs in Project Comic Con’s benefit auction, where 100% of the proceeds will go to benefit the St. Louis branch of the Special Olympics.

It’s Captain America leading Thor, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Hulk, and Spider-Man into battle. Or maybe to the comic store. Avengers assemble!
Another sketch available for sale this week! Purchase the original (8.5″ x 11″ archival ink over blue pencil) by clicking the button below. Straight out of the Avengers movie, but not looking anything like he did in the Avengers movie, it’s Hawkeye, the Avenging Archer!

With the Avengers movie scheduled for this summer, howsabout another tribute to the King, Jack Kirby? In Avengers #16, Thor, Iron Man, Giant Man, and the Wasp all quit the Avengers, leaving Captain America to rebuild the team from scratch with reformed villains, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and the Scarlet Witch (aka Cap’s Kooky Quartet)– “The start of a great new Avengers line-up!” Avengers Assemble!
