Here’s a Holiday piece I did this year for the fine folks over at The Marvel Project! Happy Holidays!
I thought it might be a good time to share some holiday art from the last couple years.
And there’s still time to order the Mini Marvels Peanuts dancing holiday postcard, as well as some original art, here in the store.

This sketch of professional wrestling superstar legend Macho Man Randy Savage was drawn in a theme sketchbook of a fan at New York Comic Con. The theme: Macho Man with a prop of the artist’s choice. I felt there was no prop more befitting the greatest wrestler of all time than Mjolnir, the mighty hammer of Thor!
See more Macho Man sketches from that sketchbook here.

Today would be Jack Kirby’s 95th birthday. Jack Kirby created most of Marvel Comics’ most popular characters — The Fantastic Four, Doctor Doom, Galactus, The Silver Surfer, The X-Men, Magneto, Captain America, Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, the Mighty Thor, the Avengers, Black Panther, The Inhumans, The Eternals, Machine Man and Devil Dinosaur. Over at DC he gave us The New Gods, Darkside, Kamandi, Omac, Sandman, Mister Miracle, The Boy Commandos, The Guardian and the Newsboy Legion, the Forever People, Manhunter and the Demon, to name a few.

In honor of Jack Kirby, the Hero Initiative has declared today to be “Wake Up And Draw Day.” I woke up and drew the above sketch of several Kirby characters. The original art will be donated to an auction to benefit the Hero Initiative along with dozens of other pieces of “Wake Up And Draw” art drawn by other comic professionals. I’ll be sure to post again when the auction is ready to take place.
And if that isn’t enough of a tribute on this Tribute Tuesday, let’s take another look at all the Kirby covers I’ve given the Tribute Tuesday treatment to. There are a lot of them, because as the greatest comic creator of all time, Jack Kirby was responsible for most of my favorite comic book covers of all time…
